Interviews
There have been many guests on Urban X who Paul has had the privelege of interviewing.
Below you will find a featured interview with some of the big names Paul has chatted to - we'll keep updating these pages with more interviews so keep checking paulnjie.com.
Ice Cube
Paul was lucky enough to interview the legend that is Ice Cube just as he was releasing his seventh (!) album Laugh Now, Cry Later in the summer of '06.
The man otherwise known as O'Shea Jackson - who began his career as one of the founding members of N.W.A. - chats to Paul about working on his new album with hot producers Scott Storch, Swizz Beatz and Lil Jon..."its meant to remind people of how rap used to be while still trying to make it sound new".
To find out why Ice Cube reckons without N.W.A. you wouldn't have The Osbournes, The Sopranos and South Park, just check out the interview below
To watch a promo video from Laugh Now, Cry Later go to Ice Cube's MySpace, and to have a wander around Ice Cube's virtual world at IceCube.com.
Mark Ronson
The prolific
producer
chats to Paul
ahead of the releases of his latest
album 'Versions' hits the
shelves (April 16).
Mark has worked with an impressive list of names on both his albums ('Here Comes The Fuzz' and 'Versions') including Rhymefest, Ghostface Killa, Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, P Diddy, Maximo Park, The Smiths and many many more...
In this exclusive interview for Urban X Paul gets to ask Mark about his first break in the scene, where Mark used to DJ in New York clubs to the likes of Biggie Smalls, P Diddy and Jay-Z. Paul also finds out just how Mark came to get involved with big UK acts like Lilly Allen and Amy Winehouse - just 'be careful if she doesn't vibe you'!
Mark also reveals his Scottish connection - did you know his Mum is from Edinburgh? - as well as laying out his plans for '07, including his production work on Rhymefest's new single 'El Che'.
